Vaporesso XROS Pro Review
The Vaporesso XROS Pro is the newest model in Vaporesso’s XROS pod system lineup and is quickly gaining popularity in the vaping industry. The Vaporesso brand is famous in the vaping community, and not only because of the XROS pod. They have built a strong reputation for creating high-quality mods and tanks.
Their dedication to providing high-quality products has received international recognition, earning numerous awards for their products throughout the years – breaking a record with more than 130 awards to date!
Vaporesso is mainly advertising the XROS Pro as the first super pulse pod system in the world! The AXON chipset, typically included in bigger Vaporesso kits, powers the AXON Super Pulse mode in this device!
AXON Super Pulse mode works by pulsing the power output to maintain a consistent level, no matter the battery’s charge. Furthermore, along with the AXON Super Pulse mode, this pod system includes COREX heating technology to provide genuine flavor from your e-liquids and extend the lifespan of the pods. COREX technology allows Vaporesso to utilize their own cotton substitute with microfibers that are engineered to hold onto flavor for extended periods. According to Vaporesso, a single pod is expected to hold around 20ml of e-liquid.
A 3ml capacity 0.4ohm pod has been developed for the XROS Pro, featuring easy top filling. These pods are also equipped with SSS anti-leaking technology, enabling you to refill your pods without any mess!
When using the 0.4ohm pod, you can adjust the power output in increments of 0.5W up to a maximum of 30W, giving you variable wattage as well. Three different power output modes are available, including Power, Normal, and Eco modes, for use with other pods within the XROS range.
The airflow can be adjusted using a slider at the back of the device, allowing for a restricted direct lung (RDTL) hit intended to mimic a mouth-to-lung (MTL) vape, depending on the resistance level of the pod. The XROS Pro can be used with all XROS pods currently on the market.
A power button is located on the front of the device for button firing, however, the device is draw-activated too by inhaling on the pod.
On the side of the device is a lock switch which enables the user to lock the fire button and the screen.
On the base of the device is a 2Amp fast charging USB-C charging port. Vaporesso states that the 1200mah internal battery can be charged from 0 to 100% in approximately 35 minutes.
My first impression was that this was a pretty weighty little device. It weighs in at 86g meaning that it is almost double the weight of some of the popular pod systems available, such as the Vaporesso XROS Mini. Measurements-wise, you are looking at 24.4mm x 18.45mm x 119.7mm.
There’s a premium vibe to the appearance of this device and I think it looks and feels like a luxury item. The edges are rounded, making the XROS Pro feel comfortable in the hand. Although it is quite weighty – you definitely notice it in your pocket however!
To get the XROS Pro started, clicking the power button five times in two seconds allows you to quickly power the device on or off. You’ll also need to fill up the pod before you first use it and allow it to sit for five minutes before vaping it for the first time to allow e-liquid to properly absorb into the cotton.
Dual activation technology is used, so you can push the power button to fire it, or just take a draw on the pod. I haven’t felt the need to use the power button aside from changing the wattage occasionally, so I’ve kept it locked. Which you can do this by toggling the lock switch at the side, which can save you from accidentally firing the device in your bag or pocket.
Airflow can be adjusted by using the airflow adjustment slider at the rear of the battery, which goes from a mouth-to-lung vape to a restricted direct lung hit.
Pressing the power button three times within two seconds will allow you to change the wattage setting. This can be adjusted by repeatedly pressing the power button until you have reached your desired setting, then leaving it. Adjusting the wattage is only available with the 0.4ohm XROS pod included with the XROS Pro. Using other resistance XROS pods will give you the option of changing between Power, Normal, and Eco modes.
If you press the power button four times within two seconds, this will reset the puff counter. Pressing it twice in two seconds will turn the LED light on and off.
Low resistance, short circuit, overheating, high resistance, no load, low voltage, over-discharge, and overcharging safety protections are built in, along with an 8-second vaping cut-off.
Having adjustable wattage, rather than a fixed output as per a lot of other pod systems, means you can really fine tune your vape. Having the ability to adjust the airflow is a big bonus too. I found that the AXON Super Pulse technology does provide a consistent vape from start to finish. I couldn’t detect any difference in the quality of the vape regardless of whether the battery was full or almost empty. That is a big tick in my book, as some of the other pod systems that I have used have a very noticeable drop-off in performance as the battery gets close to empty.
Battery level is displayed on the screen as a percentage and if you choose to keep the LED light indicator switched on the colour of the LED will also reflect how much battery is left.
In conclusion, I have enjoyed my time with the XROS Pro. So much so that it has actually become my pod system of choice, as it just performs so well!
The flavour that I get when vaping this is truly excellent and a definite cut above virtually all of the pod systems that I have tried. It is a great-looking piece of kit, that feels very robust. Another plus point is the great performance that it offers and you get plenty of mileage out of the pods. I’ve used all sorts of e-liquid in the XROS Pro’s pod and it handles anything you can throw at it.
