Voopoo Drag 3 review

Introduction to DRAG 3
Welcome to another exciting Vape Africa review. There’s a new drag on the block and Voopoo has been working hard to bring us the latest DRAG 3. Carrying on the legend which is the Drag, a few noticeable changes have been incorporated. The Drag 3 marks Voopoo’s return to the dual battery mod competition since the Argus GT last year.
The Mod
The DRAG 3 takes two 18650 batteries and uses the Gene.Fan 2.0 chipset to fire up to 177W holding onto all the greatness of the original Drag while giving us more modern comforts. The interface of the Drag 3 has been adapted by that of the Drag S/X, with a vibrant TFT screen, easy to use controls, and intuitive design.
There are three modes to choose from being Variable Wattage, RBA mode and Smart Mode, including the high burst ‘Super’ mode kicking in once you hit over 80 watts for that added power. Unlike the Drag 3’s predecessors, Temperature control has unfortunately been left out of the standard chip. However, do not fear as Voopoo has released on their website a software upgrade which would grant you the ability to use the Temperature control function. Another big mention regarding the upgrades on the Drag 3 would be the move to Type-C charging, which results in faster charging times for your battery’s.
Body & Materials
The dimensions of the Drags 3 is approximately 86 x 52 x 25mm. The mod itself has a more stylish and modern look to it made up from lightweight Zinc Alloy with the perfect leather insert to make comfortability in the hand that much better. The leather insert is padded, like a little cushion making for a lovely hand feel.
The protruding classic Drag style fire button is located at the top of the mod raised at about 2mm with an indent in the middle making it extremely ergonomic. The standard 5 clicks on 5 clicks off, 3 clicks being to change the modes. The “+” and “-“ button is located more to the bottom between the type-c charging port and screen. Holding the two buttons in takes you to the two different theme options for the TFT screen. The DRAG 3 mod takes 2 x 18650 batteries which slide in at the bottom of the mod via a sliding base battery cap. On the battery connectivity plate inside are markings engraved helping the user to distinguish which way the batteries should slide in.
Verdict
The third generation of VooPoo’s Drag proves to the industry why they are one of the leading manufacturers. The visuals of the mod itself looks superior compared to the advanced mods that are currently on the market at them moment with the build quality being superb including the performance the mod provides. The VooPoo DRAG 3’s simplicity makes the device fairly easily for a beginner vaper to operate.
