Geekvape Aegis Legend 2 Mod Review

Introduction
The Geekvape range of Aegis mods thus far have been great in all aspects from durability to performance, therefore I have really high expectations for the new Geekvape Aegis Legend 2 mod. Upon opening the box, the first thing that surprised me was the size of the new mod, I was expecting a mod the same size as the original Geekvape Aegis Legend but I was wrong. The Aegis Legend 2 mod is noticeably more compact and a lot lighter which is a big positive to a user that is constantly on the go as the last thing they would want is a mod that is bulky and heavy.
The MOD
The mod utilizes 2 x 18650 batteries which is inserted from the bottom of the device. Upon opening the battery door, the user can see a thick rubber seal which would definitely do a great job at insulating the mod from any form of liquid and dust. The mod is IP68 rated which means that it is shockproof, dustproof and water-resistant, making this the newest most indestructible mod on the market. Geekvape has always listed their Aegis range of devices as indestructible and it definitely lives up to its name as I have put the previous generation of Aegis mods through multiple drop tests and even submersed them in water for up to 30mins and they all survived all the tests.
Build quality
Geekvape has done a great job at designing the Aegis Legend 2 as it now has a classier and more tactical look with a lot less visible rubber and great paintwork on the zinc-alloy frame. The device fits comfortably in the palm of the hand and feels premium and solid to hold. The device’s USB charging port has been relocated to a new place from the top as many users have complained in the past that it was uncomfortable to vape and charge at the same time. The device now has a handy lock switch on the side of the mod which is a new feature to prevent the atomizer from firing while in a bag or in the pocket for example. The fire button is a rectangle on the front of the mod with a slight taper on the top like most of the others. Below the screen are the up and down buttons.
Features
The Aegis legend 2 mod has a power output of 5-200 watts and a resistance range of 0.1 – 3.0 ohms. The mod features a large 1.08-inch color screen that’s easy to read. It’s clear, bright, and looks great. It’s not a small mod, but it’s smaller than the Legend and pretty small for a rugged dual-18650 mod. The 510 pin is great and gave me no issues with any atomizer. Branding on the mod is kept very nice and simple. The metal frame in matching colours on both sides has Geekvape engraved into it, and a small Geekvape logo on the USB cover. The battery door is the latch system on the bottom just like it was in the original Legend. It worked great with no issues and I had no problem getting batteries in and out. Overall, it’s a great-looking and well-built mod. There is no button rattle at all either.
The L200 mod has all the features we’ve seen on the Aegis mods over the past years. Nothing new, but everything you will need. The mod has a Power mode (watts), Temp control mode for Ni200, Ti, SS and TCR, Bypass, and VPC (power curve mode). Nothing fancy or overbearing, but all the needed features we expect to have in a regulated mod are here.
Conclusion
Overall, and like the rest of the Aegis mods, I just can’t really find anything bad about the new Legend. It’s one of the best lines as far as mods go, and if you haven’t had one before, now would be the time. The mod isn’t anything ground-breaking, but it’s still an excellent mod that anyone would be happy with.
